Weekends : Algarve
We have just got back from a great 3 days in Portugal on the Algarve coast � Southern Portugal on the Atlantic ocean.
We flew in very early on Saturday morning and by 11am we had already been to our hotel in Armacao de Pera and were visiting the old seaside town of Carvoeiro. After a great lunch of Grilled Sardines and grilled Prawn skewer we headed back to the hotel and promptly feel asleep on the beach. We awoke a few hours later with a great one sided tan � luckily the sun is not as harsh as Africa � and then got ready for the evening�s culinary feast.
The seafood is all excellent and super fresh and was really relaxing being able to stroll along the beach to our chosen restaurant for the evening meal.
Sunday and Monday�s activities were pretty much the same with us visiting Lagos, Ponte de Piedade, Portimao, Praie de Rocha and Albufiera in the mornings and then spending the afternoon touching up our suntan. By Monday night we were pretty relaxed as we drove back to the airport for our flight back to London and although there was the usual cheap flight pandemonium at the airport we made it home and were in bed by 12:30.
